May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

William's other Parents

When I was pregnant with William, I thought a lot about who we would choose to be his Godparents.  I have Godparents....a whole God Family in fact....they were more than family friends...they were Godbrothers (if there is such a thing). I love that I still see my Godfather very often and that my sweet Aunt Godmother always makes me feel extra special....I wanted this same thing for William.

I think I always knew who would be his Godparents...

Once he was born and Orie and I discussed it more and more....I knew our decision was the right one.  These three individuals would be the perfect Godparents for William.....a mommy and daddy couldn't ask for more for their child.  As we approach his Baptism I am giddy with thoughts about them standing next to William on his big day, I am giddy with thoughts about them having William in their hearts and prayers forever, I am giddy with thoughts about them loving my child unconditionally forever and ever.

Ahhhh......

Dear Carie, Chad and Jarrod....

I am so glad that each one of you is in my life. I know how important your friendship is to my mom and dad and I can't wait to grow up and know you more and more. I know that you are special people and I am blessed to have you in my life.

When I was born, I knew how lucky I was to have such wonderful and loving parents. I know that they will love me, protect me, provide for me and guide me throughout my life. I know with their help I will grow up to be a kind, good and generous person.

My mom and dad decided that they would need a little guidance and help in raising me to be this kind, good and generous person.....so they have decided to Christen me in the Episcopal church. They know that with God's help and the involvement of Godparents in my life that I will have every opportunity to grow into a strong Christian man......a man who is kind, good, generous, loving, polite, caring, compassionate, trustworthy, honest, thoughtful, respectful, family oriented, prayerful and forgiving.

I hope that you will be in my life as my Godparent.....I hope that you will love me unconditionally.....I hope that you will pray for me regularly....I hope that you will set a good example for me to follow....I hope that you will teach me about your own relationship with God....I hope that you will encourage me to start each day with God in my heart....

Will you be my Godparent?

Love,
William
