So here is the deal....I am going to recap our life (since October) in a brief blog post and then get right back on track....especially since I have the handy iPHONE blogging app....I mean it can't get any easier right?
So....we went to Florida....
It was SENSATIONAL.....have I ever mentioned before how much I love going to Florida? I should really clarify this though...it's not just Florida...it's how much I love going to Destin...more specifically Dolphin View. It's just the most magical place in the world....full of family, fun, memories (old and new) and lots of giggles! Sometimes my mom and dad ponder over selling it....my heart aches a little during these discussions....even when they are followed by ideas over other grand vacations to a house with enough bedrooms for everyone.....my heart still aches at this thought....I wouldn't have a family vacation any other way than at Dolphin View....if only we could add another bedroom....
The trip was our first family vacation and William did great....a trooper in the car and the happiest baby on the block for the trip....we are often reminded how lucky we are:)
We loved spending our days on the beach with all the fam...Tess and Papa loved on all their grands.....this often made the oldest grand a little worried about sharing his Tess and Papa :)
We soaked up some precious August time....from Aunt Di as the play mate and William as the play mate....
We giggled at Cooper and his constant entertainment and giggled some more at Ethan's jokes and witty sense of humor....I swear sometimes I wonder how he is not mine....that is how cool this kid is!
It was a fantastic vacay and I hope we take lots more of them together.....to Dolphin View....no matter how many babies we have to pack in! Thanks mom and dad....we loved it!
After returning home from Florida we had the K family over to Dallas for the weekend....it was TCU's homecoming so we got to keep August for the evening.....she was so much fun and I am certain she LOVED hanging out with her aunt di and uncle orie.....I feel like she told me that I was definitely the coolest cat ever! William loved hanging with her too....these cousins are going to be besties...and i just love it!
We have picnic'd at The Arboretum with friends....oh so much fun! William so wants to play and run with her big boys...I know one day he will....for now we just love being included on their big boy outings!
We headed to Shreveport for Halloween....William had a blast at 2...yes 2 Halloween parties - he's quite the socialite! He was an adorable Pea in a Pod....his daddy was an angry bird and his mommy was a Tiger....we had so much fun dressing him up and watching him on his first Halloween....he loved the parties and was on sensory overload afterwards....there was so much to take in!!
I got to spend the week in Shreveport for a little quality play time.....it was awesome! We missed seeing Orie every night but certainly enjoyed catching up with friends and family without the quickness of a weekend visit!
We celebrated sweet Charlie's 1st birthday....gosh it is crazy to think he is a year old....I can remember when he was born...well when he was SUPPOSED to be born....I was waiting there with my sweet friend Carie after she had been in labor all night.....no signs of Charlie....I had to leave that afternoon to head back to Dallas and still no signs of Charlie....I was devastated....I thought for sure I would be there for his birth.....I got back to Dallas....still no Charlie.....I finished one of my dragon tattoo girl books and still no Charlie....then finally Charlie came....I was so excited.....! It's almost like your sister having a baby when your bestie has a baby...I just wish we lived closer so I could see him every day! I know he would think that his Aunt Di is the coolest too:) Happy Birthday sweet Charlie....I am so glad William got to celebrate with you!
We headed to Dallas Market for a fabulous sample sale....have I mentioned I love children's clothing....I want William dressed every day....from head to toe in something ridiculously cute....but I don't want to pay a fortune....so this sale is the BEST ever.....I may show you the picture of our "loot" but it might embarrass me....just know this....we had 5 buyers.....4 babies.....a gazillion outfits and barely spent anything:) IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!
We have had several doctors appointments with William....yes, I am the crazy woman who goes for the visits that are not recommended or required...you know...the ones just to make you feel good and make sure your baby is on track....doesn't everyone go to those? I am happy to report W is very healthy and definitely happy....but I didn't need a doctor to tell me that! He smiles at his mama and daddy all the time!!! sweet boy!
I headed to Conway, AR....with William....for the Arkansas Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony....because my grandfather was inducted....it was awesome! He is a fine veteran and we are so proud of him....I loved that William and August were there with him....he was so proud:) The trip was a little long and it was certainly not William's finest hour....but with the help of Aunt Kat...we made it and it was worth every second!
We had some more sweet friends come over to meet William and have a little bit of a girls night....thanks Gray and Lee-Tay....it was so fun and William loves you to pieces....William is also set for his first formal thanks to Grayson who gave him his first "tuxedo".....I am sure he is going to be a charmer:)
I took William shopping with me for Chi-Omega Christmas....it was a great afternoon....I crossed tons of people off my Christmas list and William had a blast looking at everything....I had to put him in the baby bjorn towards the end because I needed his bassinet stroller for the packages! HA! He is such a good shopper! Afterwards we met dad for dinner and had a great evening out as a family.....
I think that brings us to Thanksgiving....which was fantastic.....I love going to Shreveport and hanging with family and friends! We celebrated Grandpa's 80th birthday with a Surprise breakfast, had a delicious Turkey Dinner at mom and dad's, cheered on the Tigers for a win over Arkansas (which makes me so happy - especially since my Poppy is a big Razorback fan!!!!) Overall, it was so fun!
We are now back in Dallas ready to chill and live life again....we are decorated for Christmas....presents are wrapped...William is enjoying the lights around the house...we are soaking up precious moments with William and sweet Grace....loving our life together and trying to remember to slow down sometimes....
