May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Our little dancing machine....

Lately.....

A lot lately....as usual and little time to sit and blog.  There is a reason for this....it's a selfish one too....when I do find the time to sit down and blog I usually try to record William's happenings in his own personal unpublished blog.  I so want him to have a complete record of the early years and I just don't know that I want to bore our adventure followers with EVERY DETAIL of his week by week blog...and some things are personal - just for my sweet boy:)

So with that being said...here are a few things as of lately!

William is loving his life...he has gone on a few dates with friends and just loved it.  We lunched with Katie and Harris at Neiman's and he had a ball....he kicked and played in his bassinet the ENTIRE time....he wanted nothing to do with me trying to lull him to sleep....what a playful boy he is!

We also had a date with Frannie and Sawyer at the mall....we lunched at Corner Bakery and then strolled the mall....he loves the mall....so much to look at from his bassinet....mommy loves it because I can cover him in the stores and maneuver the stroller away from the interested people! On this particular outing to the mall he had a dance party in Anthropologie and sucked his thumb for the first and only time so far! It was quite comical that he started sucking his thumb at the mall with Frannie and Sawyer....if you know Frannie you know why!

William is also doing a great job keeping his mommy on her toes....he has had several "blow outs" as we like to call them....one in particular was in the car seat while on our way to meet Frannie and Sawyer at the mall - good times! Thanks goodness we had extra wipes and an extra outfit...we prevented the disaster from turning into a catastrophe real fast! Ironically, the blowout was discovered at Babies R Us when I popped in to exchange the unopened box of Size 1 diapers for Size 2 - yes, size 2, my 7 week old baby is already in size 2 diapers....yikes:/

Orie and I are doing well also.....we have lots to be thankful for!

Orie celebrated a birthday recently and William and I worked really hard to make it special for him.  He had some special play time with William before work and William loved it.  He thinks his daddy is the coolest!  We met him for lunch and then headed back to his office to meet "the girls".  They all oohed and aahhed over him.....he was dressed to perfection! Cheri asked me how his daddy felt about him being in a dress - ha! I said all little Southern boys wear gowns! He looked adorable.....:)

birthday lunch at Manny's....William slept through it....

Orie's home made bundt cake....delish!

After meeting the girls we had to go by 2 grocery stores to get our goodies for the evening....we made homemade pizza for Orie's birthday and a homemade bundt cake.....I was super busy for the evening and William was a rock star. He helped me put the groceries away and cook....all while playing comfortably in his bouncer....oh what would I do without the bouncer....gives me free hands and HE LOVES IT!

Orie opened his presents that night and even got something from sweet William - which we had spent the morning shopping for...Orie's birthday kind of snuck up on us and it's a little hard to browse/get ideas/shop with a tiny tot!

This past weekend we hopped over to Shreveport for a wedding shower, Cooper's birthday party and to meet cousin August for the FIRST TIME! It was a jam packed weekend and we didn't miss a thing!

We left Friday after work and William did really well on his first road trip....we stopped for him to eat (really just to keep him on schedule) and then got back on the road.  When we got to the house August, Aunt Kat, Uncle Josh, Tess and Papa were all there waiting for our arrival.  We were so excited to finally meet August....she is absolutely perfect and the sweetest little girl! I love that we finally have another princess in the family! I say another because we all know that I am the original princess of the family - just ask anyone!  Papa tried to steal William first but Aunt Kat put up a fight.....I was just trying to make sure that we did not stimulate this sleeping baby since he is usually sleeping from 7-10:30.....It was a great short evening!

Saturday morning we had a mini photo shoot with William and August....it was so cute....William slept pretty much the whole time and August was all smiles waiting to play with him. It was adorable!  William got to hang out with his Nana too and even flashed a few smiles for the group.....ahhh!

Nana came over for the photo shoot and got some William love!

August and William in Tess' new bassinet....William is almost too long for it....I think August is wondering why it's a little more cramped than usual!

After the photo shoot we headed out to Ethan's soccer game. It was so fun to watch him play - he is such a good team player and always loves to see all his biggest fans cheering from the sidelines!

Uncle Rod with William.....before his daddy took his bonnet off....

Uncle Josh with William....after his daddy took his bonnet off....

After that we  headed to lunch and then back to the house so William could meet Mama Tee, Poppy and Ange....he loved getting to meet new faces....his Mama Tee even got to give him a bottle so it was love at first sight!

Mama Tee with William....

Poppy with William....and he's sporting a mustache that I haven't seen in over 20 years....such spunk!

Aunt Ange with William....

We were then off to Cooper's Lego Party....it was SO CUTE....Jen didn't miss anything....every adorable detail was covered and the kids looked like they were having a fun time too!  Katharine and I had the babies in coordinating gowns and everyone loved getting their chance to hold the babies....it was so fun for them to finally meet so many friends!

He's telling her something super important....

Aunt Gail with William....

Aunt Jen gets her turn with the babies....and all smiles:)

those big boy cousins just have to make you smile!

Aunt Kat with William....post major diaper blow out....:(

That evening we were off to celebrate Ben and Lecie at a couples shower. It was such a fun evening with friends.....We did not get home until 11:30 and paid for it dearly the next morning - William decided 5:15 was a nice time to wake up....boo:(

On Sunday William got to meet his Grandma and Grandpa....they came over to Orie's parents house and just loved on our sweet boy. We were so excited for William to finally meet them....they definitely keep up with his photos on e-mail and facebook but it's nice to finally get the real deal! He even got to meet Aunt Judy this trip....she was dropping by and loved getting to meet William too!  William loved his afternoon and all the special attention he was getting from his Nana, Grumpus, Aunt Judy, Grandma and Grandpa.

We even squeezed in a birthday celebration for Orie on Sunday. His mom ordered him a cookie cake and we celebrated over lunch....we even sang Happy Birthday! It was so fun....!

Secretly I think Orie likes all these parties and celebrations as much as I do:)

After Orie's birthday celebration we hopped back to the house for another quick photo shoot - this one complete with babies and big boy cousins! They did great....the big boys were so cooperative and I think excited that they got to "hold" the babies....we put Ethan on William and Cooper on August....I think I got the safer end of the deal on this one!!!! No injuries in the end and about 500 FABULOUS photos....I have never seen a camera click so fast - it was awesome! I can't wait to really dissect them and pick my favorite....

 Aunt Jen and the babies...

Cooper waiting so patiently to hold his baby for the picture....
something must have been incredibly funny....however the babies look a little more concerned than amused!

love William's face here...it's like oh Ethan please hold on tight!

Tess jumped in for her turn!

we took pictures EVERYWHERE....Aunt Jen scoped out the prime spots in the house....

they are so regal here!

and dancing on the tables already!

so sweet.....

love Aunt Kat's new camera and all the black and whites

serious business here....

more secrets...or maybe some kisses?

Moms....are you really leaving us here?

seriously? I know Aunt Jen says it's okay but I'm worried....

Tess and the newest grand babies

Aunt Gail and her new niece and nephew....

trying so hard to get his head up....sweet August waiting patiently....

isn't she precious?

my favorite picture of William from the whole day...love this face....

So....Sunday night when we got home we were EXHAUSTED! Thankfully William went right to sleep like usual and stuck to his normal routine...YEAH! Go us on our first road trip!

Grace sleeping next to William....sweet girl:)

Just a note....while in Shreveport I met a blog follower! YES....we have followers out there who are not family:) It was so fun to meet her....I follow her daughter in law's blog so I knew all about her too....it was so funny!  So to the rest of you blog followers....let me know who you are....I would love to know who thinks we are interesting enough to follow!!

We hope your weekend is super fabulous! Do something fun in this gorgeous weather....we are:)

A Lot Lately....but Little Time to Blog

We really have been quite busy lately....with our latest adventure William and a few other things in life.  I will sort of try and play catch up for y'all and then try and be better about updating more often....like in the "old days"!

William joined us on August 10th at 11:43 in the morning....we knew he would make a dramatic entrance in some capacity...his version of drama was not coming on his own, still not wanting to make an appearance after an induction....and then causing a little bit of worry with some heart decels....after all this his dramatic entrance was achieved via c-section!

It is so funny now to have him on the outside...he does things all the time that makes me wonder if that was what I was feeling in my tummy...his movements are very similar and speaking of movements - he still moves ALL THE TIME....this boy may have been lazy about his arrival and lazy in those first few days but he is all about moving now!

I was really lucky to have lots of help when William was born....tons of family was here to celebrate his arrival and some special friends too.  My mom and Orie's mom were both able to come and stay with us for a while.....this really spoiled us:) Then Orie was able to take a nice bit of time off of work to stay home with us too....I have to admit I was a little nervous about what would happen when they all went away and it was just me and William....I can happily report that we are alive and well!

Since his arrival we have had lots of fun happening....

We welcomed August Elizabeth into the world....William's newest cousin....while we have not seen her sweet face in person yet....we stay updated via pics and text messages...William is so excited to meet her and we are all excited that Kat and Josh finally gave this M family another Princess!

We have had a fantastic date night....at Alma...it was delish and so fun to get out and socialize!

We have watched several Saints games and LSU games.....some with William and one without....
We were both able to attend the LSU vs. Oregon game and it was SO MUCH FUN! We paid for the long day and late night the next day when no one was around to take care of our baby anymore...we quickly learned why most parents don't stay out late when they have little ones at home!

We have had several check ups at the doctor's office....some for well visits, some for weight checks....William seems to be on track so far so we are super happy about that!  He is still a big boy....super super long....when he stretches out I feel like we have a toddler!

We have had Grace's one year check up at the ophthalmologist and I can report that her eyes look FANTASTIC....I can hardly believe it has been a year since she had her cataract surgery....our sweet girl....I don't know what she would do if she couldn't chase squirrels and play in the yard all day long!

I helped a friend with her Orient Expressed show again this season and loved getting out of the house to look at precious children's clothing...it was so fun and I even got a little adult interaction!

We have had several sweet friends bring dinner to our house....an amazing treat when you have had a baby! We are so thankful for this...I don't think Orie would have had many home cooked meals without this treat!

I just asked Orie to help me remember what all we have been up to since William was born and his response was...hmmm...fed him, changed him.....that pretty much sums it up! HA!

We have also celebrated his one month birthday, complete with a cupcake celebration while we joined some friends for lunch.  It was a fun Saturday outing on a special day!

I feel like we have done some other exciting things but I can't quite think of them at the moment....blame it on sleep deprivation or crazy mommy brain!

We hope your last month and a half has been full of fun and lots of great adventures.....we will do better about keeping you up to date with ours. Enjoy some highlights....in absolutely no order whatsoever...that would take more time:)
