Broken Toe

So I think I broke my pinky toe Wednesday morning before work. I slammed it into the door frame of our bathroom; dodging the drying hanging clothes and into the already tight corner. It hurt like a #^%&#^&*#!@ and it was all I could do not to fall down and die.

I was pampered and thought all was well...not much you can do for a broken toe. Today however...day 3 of broken toe and it still really hurts. Not just the toe but the entire upper right portion of my right foot. I hope I make it!

On a side note...count your blessings everyday...take a moment to hug the ones you love...say a prayer for those in need...and remember that the best is yet to come...we love you special friends...it was a great news day!

Birthday Weekend...finally here!

What a fantastic birthday celebration I had. I had a fantastic evening with Orie o Thursday night before he left for Vegas and then Kat joined me for a fabulous weekend on Friday. We did it all!!! Dinner Friday night at Uva, one of my favorite places. We enjoyed wine at Cavatappo and then a nice stroll with Grace.

Saturday we hit the town shopping and relaxed that afternoon with a drink at the Boat Basin. We finished our day with diner at Cafe D'Alsace and had a blast.

Sunday we walked all over this city doing more shopping and exploring. We hit all our favorite spots and enjoyed all the sights. We were wiped to say the least at the end of our day. We enjoyed a nice quiet evening at the apartment on Sunday night and it was perfect.

Monday we had breakfast in the neighborhood and then made a quick trip to Banana to see what last minute damage we could do. It was a fantastic weekend!

Thank you Kat for making the trip. Thank you mom and dad for making it possible. We loved all our fancy diners out and our shopping excursions. Thank you sweet Varnadores for my birthday song and You Are My Mooshine...it made my days!!

Now back to the reality of life in NYC...laundry, grocery store, house work, etc. boo hoo!

Birthday Day!

I had such a nice birthday. Thank you for all your lovely cards, voicemails, texts and well wishes. It was the best. Orie and I spent a nice evening celebrating and are soon off to bed...early am flight for him and work for me. I am anxiously awaiting Kat's arrival and the fun that lies ahead. Just what the doctor ordered!!! A few pics to come soon...

It's My Birthday Party Day!!!!

What fun we had yesterday in the park celebrating my birthday. Orie, Laura, Grace and I were thoroughly entertained throughout the afternoon and evening. We had great music (including a Happy Birthday serenade), a festive picnic, many laughs and even a trip to the Food Emporium's basement bathroom! Who knew they let the public use it? We took a nice walk in the park on Friday afternoon and really enjoyed being outside. We are learning new things about our camera and so we are taking lots of pictures these days! Enjoy some of our stroll through the park.

Sweet Marissa

What fun it was to see Marissa in NYC!!! We had such a great timing joining her and some friends at Cilantro for drinks and fun. We even got to entertain them back at our apartment...which I loved because we rarely get to have people over in NYC!! Great stories were told and I really enjoyed meeting everyone...even a fellow New Yorker. Thanks for including us in your visit and come back any time!!!!

Of course Grace had to get in on the fun!

Who Wants to Come to My Party?

We have wine and cheese and lots of fun planned for tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait for my birthday party in Central Park. My two "besties" are going to be there, Orie and Grace, and I am hoping that some friends will join us too. Look at our cute party supplies!!!! If you're in the neighborhood stop on by! Cinco de Mayo

Hi everyone!

Wow...we have lots to think about as the 5th of May is upon us. A shout out to my swine flu "sista" and a good ole' Poppy. We have thought of you lots and lots over the last couple of days and wish happy thoughts, moments and days ahead of you.

We're hoping you can have a smile for good ole' Cinco de Mayo. For some reason I have always felt the need to celebrate Cinco de Mayo...it may be my love for Mexican food, margaritas or maybe even my longing to learn the Spanish language. Whatever it may be, I love celebrating. When I called home after work to ask what we were doing for Cinco de Mayo...my sweet husband DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS CINCO DE MAYO!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe?

After much nagging and getting him with the program we went out to Cilantro to celebrate and have dinner for Cinco de Mayo. Don't you just love all the people gathered to celebrate? I have to say...this may make me look really silly...but I don't even know what the celebration is for in Mexican culture. I hope it's to celebrate spring and good weather because that is what it reminds me of today!

Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone....happy days of plowing to Poppy.....and happy no more water logged swine infested days to my sweet "sista"

can't sleep

So Orie is conked out snoring and I can't sleep. This is probably because I came home from work and took a seriously long nap!! It was great...I wish I was still in school and had rest time.

Wanting to know what everyone is doing with their weekend? Rain is in our forecast and we have no plans. Hoping that something fun will turn up...
