May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Captain Shreve Boys

It's my husband's 10 year high school reunion this weekend. No, we are not going but I started thinking about his group of guy friends. They are an amazing group of people....some of them friends since University Elementary and most of them friends and classmates from Youree Drive all the way to LSU...with several new buddies picked up along the way. Now....not everyone is in this picture but it's one of my favorites of Orie and his pals...a true picture of brotherhood and friendship...Enjoy!

I wish I had pictures....

What a fantastic weekend we had! No pictures to document it yet but hopefully some from our Saturday adventure will find their way to the blog soon.

Friday night, Audrey came to Dallas for an overnight visit. She had a wedding weekend and decided to pop by for some Friday night fun. We loved having our first official family visitor. We went to dinner at one of the few places we know in Dallas, The Porch, and it was fantastic. As we made our way to the bar to wait with a cocktail we saw my sister and some of her friends waiting for a table also...such a small world. We waited together over some hummus and cocktails. The wait was worth it. Once we sat down our meal was delicious...Brisket Enchiladas, Gourmet Cheeseburger and Fish-n-Chips. We were STUFFED to say the least but had a very nice evening.

Saturday we woke up and headed out to play some Top Golf. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed every moment. Top Golf is super fun and I highly recommend it if you are ever near this sort of entertainment arena. I was TERRIBLE and still had a blast!

Saturday evening we had an LSU Tiger celebration. Some of my high school friends stopped by for some good food, spirits, and an AWESOME football game...GEAUX TIGERS! I was so thankful for a Tiger win...nothing like a loss to kill the buzz of a party. So glad everyone could make it and had a good time. We will have to do it again soon.

Needless to say, after such a great Friday and Saturday we took it easy on Sunday. We hung around the house and watched the Saints play....and pull off a win in the end....against the Dolphins...that was a tough one to watch. Hopefully next week won't be as agonizing!

Today is a dreary day in Dallas...full of rain and cold setting in. I'm glad it's an indoor day of laundry and cleaning house!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We enjoyed ours and having one of our first adventures in Dallas at Top Golf! Hopefully there will be lots more to come!

finally...my computer is back!

Wow - It has been a long time since our computer has lost internet and Orie couldn't fix it....We were out three days waiting for Time Warner to come and fix it. I still just don't understand why Orie couldn't put the magic touch on it!

Finally..we're back though!

We had another great weekend in Shreveport with friends and family. My friend Amy got married and lots of our friends were in town for that. Here are some pics!

The happy couple....Mr. and Mrs C.M.

There they go....

It was a fabulous evening. Amy and Chris were a beautiful couple and the night was so much fun. We love being so close for special moments in our friends' lives!

This weekend was also my mom's big event for GREAT and The Arc of Caddo-Bossier. We weren't able to go to her Saturday night Argentian Gaucho event but we did make it out to the brand new therapeutic riding facility...GREAT...on Sunday for the open house. The facility is fabulous and the riders and horses put on a nice show. The weekend's events were a great success but the fundraising continues...

Way to go Mom!

Ethan enjoyed SEVERAL pony rides

and face painting...orange pumpkins of course...so serious...

Have a fabulous weekend everyone. We are looking forward to a Tiger win on Saturday with friends!

What are you doing with these beautiful fall days?

Light the Night

It's Light the Night season! Please find a local walk in your area and join in as we remember the life of my dear friend Michael Bovenzi who lost his battle to leukemia in 2004. It's an evening to celebrate the lives of those we have lost and raise money and hope for those who continue to fight.

Cooper....and those poor Tigers

Boy did these aunts have fun heading home to meet Cooper Grayson V. He is precious and we enjoyed each moment with him, his family, and that sweet big brother Ethan. Enjoy some pics from my camera....you know his mama has way more!

Papa...enjoying Cooper's first moments at home....trying to watch the golf!

Tess...getting Cooper's cradle ready!

Ethan...doing all he can for some attention....what a sweet big brother!

Cooper and his Daddy had a special gift for his Mama. We all toasted his arrival with a bottle of Cristal!

These aunts needed a little night life after such a great visit with Cooper!

Then it was time to tell Cooper and Ethan see ya later alligator and head back to Dallas for the LSU/Florida game. What a bummer...

Di and Orie posing!

Orie, Chris, and Audrey....so glad they stopped by for a quick visit!

Di and Audrey...with a horrible game in the background!

Di and Kat...brrr it was cold on Saturday!

Val and Orie....glad he was able to come for the game too...always nice to catch up and see friends.

Well, we certainly wish LSU would have shown up on Saturday but I guess you can't ask for too much at once! Enjoy your week!

Cowboys and Jambalaya!

Yesterday was a fun Sunday for us! We were invited out to Kristin and Dan's for jambalaya and to watch the Cowboys game. Of course Orie showed up in his Saints jersey! I don't know that we will ever be Cowboys fans!

We loved getting to see Aidan and look at their new beautiful home. It includes a media room with a 9 foot screen. I didn't think I would get Orie to leave the room he was so impressed! We also dined on excellent jambalaya and muffalettas. Thanks Kristin and Dan for the hospitality!

Happy Birthday Celebration Day Orie!

This weekend we were able to celebrate Orie's birthday in Dallas. We knew we wanted to lay low at the apartment since it was our first weekend in Dallas without anything eventful. I picked up a cake, had some balloons and made some requested snacks for his "party" (just the two of us...)

I think he had a great time at his celebration. The Tigers pulled off a win and we had a relaxing fun day with tons and tons of leftovers...so stop by and have some cake if you want to!

Check out all his pretty cards!

The birthday boy and his sweet wife!

His 29 birthday balloons...

Grace approves of the decorations...

Our entertaining table...

Grace even got to have some "cake"....one of her precious treats from Ethan...

Orie's Birthday cake...when I brought it home and opened the box it was split down the middle. I was so upset :(
It's time for cake!

I love his teeth smiles....wow that's a lot of candles!

I hope he made a good wish!
We love that we can have a birthday celebration day....just the two of us....and still have tons and tons of fun! Happy Birthday Orie!

GEAUX TIGERS

Written by Jill Savoie...

/Chad Jones for Heisman!/

In the wild and wacky world of college football
Your Fighting Tigers are ranked #4
We'll see this week if we belong in the club
Or if we'll be shown the door

Chad Jones is an absolute beast of a man
His heads up play again saved the day
He blocks! He scores! He breaks up passes!
And there can't be anybody in Division 1 football with a lower ERA

That dirty little word is being bandied about
Cries of "Overrated" are loud and clear
Our buddies at ESPN have us on upset alert
Just remember they've been wrong about LSU all year

So what should we do about it, smart guy?
Just close up shop and stay home?
Fire the coaches, players and the guy that paints the end zones too?
I mean, it's been, like, /100 years/ since we've beaten Georgia at home!

No matter if your glass is half full or half empty
There's one thing that can't be denied
Hang on to your drinks and your expectations
It's gonna be a bumpy ride

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
