May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Our Week....and weekend....

Orie and I really had a nice week....here are a few moments from our 168 hours.....

Sunday we "nested" big time....cleaned the house from head to toe....bug spray, organization, you name it...we did it....I was exhausted and so grateful for my helping husband.....who reminded me that we didn't have to do everything in one day.....

Monday we had the 6 hour Directv installation debacle.....oh dear...you probably don't want to know the horrendous details.....just know that now when you come to visit us you not only have the newly installed ceiling fan you also have a working television and cable box!

the new cable box....

antique family armoire complete with new cable box and television....

We were supposed to have our Lamaze class again but it was cancelled due to a family emergency for the instructor....we hope to hear all is well when we make up the class....so sad...I have to say though that after a deep clean on Sunday and a long day with Directv on Monday I was rather grateful not to go to class until 9:30 at night!

Somewhere around the beginning of the week I changed out the cabinet hardware in both bathrooms....it was one of those things we should have done from the beginning when we changed all the other hardware and just never did....I am somewhat satisfied with the results....I just wish we could have new cabinets and new bathrooms but that is another whole house one day! We tried to change out the sink fixtures but we don't have water shut off valves underneath our sink and after hours of frustration Orie could not locate the shut off valve in the yard.....being the good wife...I tabled the project, boxed up the fixtures and quickly returned them to Lowe's before any more frustration could set in with Orie....

This week I also made house keys for our family....I want them to be able to come whenever they can for William's arrival so I figured their own key and instructions is the best way to go....Kat and Jen picked out their keys first....hope we still have one for you!!!

Jen picked red...of course....

This week was also an especially nice week for Grace....she spent many hours relaxing in William's room....I finally took some pics because she was just too cute.....here is my favorite....won't she be a great protector over William?

Tuesday brought around a dentist appointment for me....so glad to get it in before baby but in my opinion it is NOT ideal to go to the dentist pregnant.....let's just say bleeding gums and excess saliva....YUCK and embarrassing....oh well....the gal was so nice and so eager to talk about William and gave me lots of her mommy tips....it's so nice to have a real Dallas dentist now too!

Wednesday I got to have lunch with my friend Lee and her precious piece of arm candy - William....always a treat! We lunched at a place called Ketchup in Uptown....complete with gourmet cheeseburgers, a trio fry plate (sweet potato, zucchini and truffle fries), and a homemade milkshake that William thought would be more appealing all over his mommy and the floor....it was priceless coming from a 5 month old!

Wednesday and Thursday also brought about lots of errands for me....I ran all over town and it was great....I had tons and tons of energy and really got a lot accomplished....it was still oober hot outside but oh well...it's nice to feel productive!

Orie did not have to work too late this week so that was very exciting....he was home for dinner each night and I just love that! His office also had a nice mention in Time Magazine.....so exciting to see his bosses quoted!!!

Friday brought a trip to the Dallas Executive Airport to pick up a friend Kelly for Kat's baby shower....I have never heard of this airport nor have I been there....it was so random but really easy to get to....We had a nice morning visit and then I joined Kelly, Holly and Mauri at Breadwinners for lunch - delish! Then I decided to treat myself to a pedicure....gosh they know a pregnant girl is really a sucker to the "add ons"..... he said would you like an extra foot massage....I said yes....then at the end he said would you like a neck and shoulder massage....I of course said yes....it was pure heaven....thanks for my treats Orie!

After that it was back home to tidy up for our weekend company....Kat and Josh complete with 2 children (Sedona and Bear) and Jen and Rodney (with zero children) were headed this way for Katharine's baby shower and some Dallas fun!

Friday night Kat went to a girls dinner so Josh, Orie and I headed to Top Golf for some fun.....it was a great evening.....it just went a little long....a combination of waiting for a tee and my husband not really wanting to go home....let's just say I was hot, super tired, uncomfortable from standing and sitting in the awful chairs and had swollen feet the size of basketballs when we finally got to bed at 12:40!!!

the boys playing Jenga while we wait....

got the clubs and ready to go.....

Saturday, Jen and Rodney arrived and the girls headed off to Kat's baby shower at Maude's Tea Room....it was so nice and really fun to catch up with all of her friends. The place was really pretty and had everything set up so nice....she got some beautiful gifts and it was a really fun morning! Kat then headed off with her college girlfriends for a girls weekend at Hotel Palomar and Jen and I headed off to run the roads....we went to the Patycake Kids Home Show (adorable stuff....let me know if you need the contact)....we looked at a Christmas option for the 4 kiddos this year....I was all ready to order and get down to business but you know Jennifer....she is much more practical and really needs to stop and think about it....I left with nothing (Orie was so excited and grateful Jen went with me....I was devastated:(....)

After that we made our usual run to Hip Hip for Jen to look at the goodies....their sale starts soon so I will head back and hope some of the goodies are still on the rack! We then browsed Swoozie's and then headed to the mall for a bit....where we ran into Josh, Orie and Rodney....definitely up to no good. They had been to the Bavarian Hall for beers and brats and now were mall walking....they definitely looked suspicious! I joined Orie for some successful shoe shopping (poor Orie and his feet and shoes...it's really a battle!) The boys left and then Jen and I did a little children's shopping. After that we were off for mega block Legos at Big Lots and then home for some relaxation before dinner....A side note...if you have any mega blocks you would like to donate to Jen and Cooper please let me know!

For dinner we went to Neighborhood Services...yum! The boys set up call ahead seating and we really did not wait that long for our table....it was probably a good thing because I was running out of steam after a fun week and weekend.....

Josh, Jen, Rodney....

Jen and Rodney...

Orie and Di....

Orie's yummy watermelon salad....

On Sunday I slept in a tiny bit and then we had breakfast at the house....yummy cinnamon rolls and Sister Schubert's pigs in a blanket! After that we showered and got ready for the day....one more round of some baby shopping for Kat....We headed out to Buy Buy Baby to complete her registry....so fun! We had been saving up our coupons and had everything planned out for her purchases.....the cashier wasn't super excited about us and even inquired where we got all these coupons!!!! It was like extreme couponing watching her total go down down down....I just loved it! Orie did not join for the Buy Buy Baby excursion and Josh spent most of his time in the glider rockers they have on display!!!! Oh Boys!

What a fun weekend it was....I was reminded that the next time we have visitors in the house William will probably be here! Yippee....we can't wait....so y'all come back!
