Memorial Day Weekend

A relaxing weekend in Dallas is what we had in store.....

It was the 2011 debut of my fabulous backyard pool and CCH.....this year we are starting off with just the pool....we might add the basketball facility, the snack bar and the drink cart at a later date!

It was so relaxing for me....Orie on the other hand never got in....I'm not sure he thinks the pool is as great as I do!

****when i mention WE below....I really mean Orie....I merely supervised on a few projects!
We also had lots of jobs that weekend....and amazingly they were all pretty successful.....We capped the hole in the ceiling where we took down the old dining room's chandelier.....now we have a full ceiling above our new office....!
We took down the ceiling fan in William's room and moved it into the guest room - so come stay with us...you have a fan now....and soon a television with working cable!
Orie tried to install the chandelier in William's room but he hit a road block so we called handy man.....oh dear his name is totally escaping me now....and he came over on Tuesday and hung the chandelier and even put all the crystals back on it for me! What a nice guy!

After most of the jobs were finished Orie and I headed out to run some errands and Orie decided that he wanted to smoke a brisket for Memorial Day....we hopped over to Home Depot and got our supplies, picked up a brisket and then came back home to prepare it. Orie did a great job on prep day and then cooked it to perfection the next morning. I am not really a BBQ person but this was delicious.....and I love an activity that keeps us outside playing!

It was fun to have a holiday weekend in town without too much going on....I know Orie enjoyed his day off and I loved getting to spend it with him!
