May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Battery Park

We headed out on another adventure on Saturday...all the way down to Battery Park. We started off by stopping at the World Financial Center. Look at the beautiful park we stumbled upon right outside our subway!

We then made our way to the esplanade on the Hudson River. This went from the World Financial Center all the way down to Battery Park. It was a beautiful walk. Check out these boats. They come in three sizes: small, medium & large. We'll take the large please!

We even had a great view of Orie's office building. He is on a very high floor on the south east corner which means he has great views of the city! His is the tall cream one in the middle.

It was a little bit overcast and the wind was starting to pick up but we tried to get a nice photo of Lady Liberty. Isn't she a beauty?

Once we made it to Battery Park we had some interesting street entertainers. Usually they are really nice and funny and then put on a great show. These guys weren't so nice and their trick wasn't THAT amazing. Check out the video though for a little bit of fun.

After that we were on our way back to a subway stop...I had no idea we were all the way down by the Staten Island Ferry.

I really wanted to ride on it but we decided not to since it was late in the day and the weather was getting questionable. However, it only costs about $3 to ride and they say you get some nice views of the Statue of Liberty on your way out to Staten Island. Side note...the crown to Lady Liberty is now open. It has been closed since 9/11. All signs say that tickets to the crown are completely SOLD OUT!

Look at what we stumbled upon walking to the subway...

He was pretty cool. We also came upon this beautiful building. It is an existing Catholic Church smack dab in the middle of 2 HUGE buildings in downtown Manhattan. Amazing!

Crazy how something so lovely can still exist among a neighborhood full of ugly office buildings.

We finally made it to our subway station and had a long trip home. Look how far down we were...

What a great day we had! Hope your weekend was wonderful too...
