4th of July

We spent our 4th of July weekend at the beach. We headed out with some friends on Friday to Long Beach on Long Island. We had so much fun on Friday that we decided to head back again on Saturday. It was such a fun experience and how crazy that we are just another short train ride away from something wonderful. Check out our day...

When we arrived on Friday we knew that there was a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. This is what the sky looked like soon after we arrived.



Laura and Geoff had no trouble with this one...they brought rain gear...to the beach!




No worries...the sun did come out and we enjoyed every moment for the rest of the day. They even had a beach umbrella and chair rental company set up on the beach. Orie...our white friend...was thrilled. Check out his nice chair...



We loved soaking up the sun...at least I did!







We had a blast...even though we did not do the trip the right way on our first day out...we had no picnic, beverages, or anything...have no fear we did it right the second day! I told Laura that our mothers would be so proud of our classiness...a gourmet picnic with white wine in a Nalgene bottle! Nothing but the finest on Long Beach!





And what 4th of July picnic would be complete without patriotic cupcakes and American flags?



We had the flags staked in the ground all day marking our 4th of July party. They were so fun...we even had noise makers for party favors. We were a big hit on the beach...as I am sure you can imagine. Look at all the people...



We loved having a great weekend with friends and doing something fun and adventurous! I know I will miss these things if we ever leave NYC...I just wish we could experience them with more family and friends!
