Our sweet boy had his Christening this past Sunday! It was a wonderful day. We were so thankful that our little guy was well and in good spirits....this was not the case for his original Christening date :(
I was so excited to have his Christening in St. Mark's....this is where I went to school, went to church most of my life and where I got married. It's the most beautiful place inside and out and I am so glad that my family gets to make special memories there too.
After church, Orie and I hosted a brunch for family, William's God Parents and a few friends. It was the perfect day too - the weather was gorgeous and William was all smiles...he is such a good boy and was really "shining" on his special day.
For his original Christening date I had gone to the store here in Dallas and tried to prep as much as I could before we left town....that was AWFUL....so this time around I changed it up a bit. I froze what I could from the last time and then just waited to go to the store when I got to Shreveport. It was so much easier that way! I got almost everything at Sam's which was really nice...I have such a hard time planning food based on numbers and sometimes those numbers are never really set in stone because a lot of people don't RSVP which is hard. We did our best though and loaded our buggy and then came home to cook cook cook. I had a great team and it was really not that bad....I even got to sneak away that afternoon with my sisters and hop over to a baby store!
Sunday morning, William woke up all smiles and ready to start his special day. We had a morning bottle and a little bit of play time before getting him dressed. I was a little worried about his outfit and whether or not it would fit. All of the M family grand babies have worn the same Christening gown...it's an apron style gown with a separate under outfit (basically that shows the collar and sleeves). Well I knew the apron would fit but the under outfit that E and C wore was a little snug last month when we tried to have a Christening....don't worry - I had a back up! Orie got William dressed that morning and said his outfit was a little snug....I asked...."snug cause he's a big boy or snug like it's cutting off the circulation?" We laughed and then looked...it certainly was snug like it's cutting off the circulation....oh well, we quickly changed into our backup and then headed off to church.
It was a beautiful service with several babies...they were all so sweet and good! We certainly took up several rows with all of William's family and friends....he is such a lucky boy!
Enjoy some pics from William's special day!
