I am such a pack rat...in a tidy way though. Everything has meaning and tells a story for me...even clothing....so it's really hard to get rid of things. My philosophy that day was to do it quickly...like ripping off a band aid. If a white shirt has yellow funk in the arm pit (gross) it should have gone years ago....
I just tossed and tossed and tossed....then without even looking through the pile....dumped it in a garbage back and loaded it in my car. It was great!
It was now time to do shoes....I'm obsessed with shoes....I love them! Shoes always make you feel good...and a new pair can make an old outfit look new again. It was time though...I had shoes that I wore during my first teaching job in Brusly, LA....and I think we can all remember how long ago that was! The shoes were a lot harder to purge than the clothing....not sure what the psychology is behind this but it was really difficult. I mean...my husband made room for ALL of these shoes when I moved to NYC...why shouldn't I hang on to them for a little longer?
I felt like I was really doing a great job in the shoe department....tossing more pairs than keeping....and then I stumbled upon these beauties....
So....my purge ended there. I kept the beautiful sparkle sequin shoes and didn't look back! I may even where them this Holiday season!
I loaded the other shoes into the car and felt good about my decision...after all....someone less fortunate was going to benefit from some nice clothing and shoes at some point. I should have gone to the Goodwill right then....
After a few days of the clothes staying in the back of my car I started to rethink my hasty purge....what was I doing...I loved some of those things. Now, don't worry....the clothes have not made it back into my closet....but I did take the bags out of the car...just to think about it for a little bit longer:)
Happy Thursday!

We're so the same person. It's terrible. I can't even walk in my closet because all of the shoes!
