You know....working in the baby store can be quite glam. I register lots of women for precious gifts....even some of my friends. It's so fun to help them pick out all of their favorites. Well....today I got to register someone I have never met before. I started asking her the usual information etc. the baby name, her name, her husband's etc. When she told me her husband's name she said Emmitt Smith.....I just smiled and kept going. Then when I asked her the paternal grandparents names and she said Emmitt Smith again I knew it had to be his wife. How cool.....except for the fact that I originally spelled his name Emmett and as I wrote it the second time she said that's Emmitt with an "i". I responded quite clever like with, "I guess I should know that now that I'm a Texan!" Good thing I did not respond with my witty "Who Dat" that I gave Troy Aikman!!!!
She was so nice and kind. I kept wondering how big her baby was going to be having Emmitt for a dad. Maybe he will come in with her to do any exchanges or anything else down the road......
I also feel refreshed when famous people and those with loads of money just come in and act like everyone else....it's so lovely.....Joy Baher from The View was like that at Marie Chantal....just sweet and out shopping for some baby gifts.
Who knew life at the baby store could be so GLAM!
