We left for Vegas last Thursday to celebrate our anniversary. It was perfect....and I love the idea of a vacation for our anniversary. Usually we would have coordinated a trip to CMP for summer and our anniversary....now that we are in Texas it's just not that easy :(
We had some travel mishaps on Thursday and were pretty delayed getting to Las Vegas...and also pretty tired with the two hour time difference. So that night we just sort of walked around The Bellagio...scoped out the amenities of our fabulous 5 start hotel and checked out where we were going to lounge poolside the next day!

Friday we woke up and headed to the pool bright and early. It was a good thing too because by about 9:30 most of the "good" spots were taken. If you know me, and many of you know me quite well, I am a little bit particular....this is with anything and everything...including which spot at the pool we were going to have and in fact which pool we were even going to sit around! We did find the perfect spot and were ready for some sun and relaxation! Our pool was a fabulous fountain pool and we soaked up tons and tons of rays. I think we went through three cans of sunscreen during our trip! Because it was so warm we were in and out of the pool every 30 minutes, so our towels were yellow with sunscreen residue and we even stained our white cover ups :( booh.....

Our hotel had an outdoor walkway that connected the two casinos....basically we didn't have to get out on the strip and deal with the masses of crazy people! Caesar's Palace was beautiful and there were loads of fabulous stores. I could have bought everything in site! Instead, I settled on a pair of Tory Burch flip flops for my anniversary present. They are fabulous and I love them....thank you Orie!orie soaking up some sun

this particular fountain show started off with all this moisture rising out of the pond....it was so cool!

it was circular and almost swayed....very cool...the song was The Pink Panther....very cool!

our Prosecco.....cheers to our anniversary!

we weren't so sure about this cat....he was all gangster and then pulled out a flip phone and could barely read the screen!

After some fun shopping we came back to The Bellagio and had some prosecco and watched the fountain show on a beautiful outdoor veranda....it was amazing! The music and the rhythm of the fountains are quite incredible....one of my favorite moments!

That evening we had a lovely dinner at Le Cirque in The Bellagio. It was truly a gourmet meal. Orie had a chef's tasting selection and I had lobster gnocchi....fabulous. I even found these blue glasses that I have coveted since the beginning of the NBC series Friends. I asked the waiter if I could have them or if I could buy some and he looked like I had asked for spaghetti with no noodles! He only let me buy 2 and wouldn't give me the name of the supplier....he has probably never met anyone quite like me!
my blue glass! i almost put it in my purse so I could have one more!!!!
After dinner we rolled some dice at the craps table and weren't very successful. It was fun though and we even met a sweet British couple who we kept running into....Vegas is so random!
Saturday we sat poolside all day......I just didn't want to get up because I knew it was our last day of vacation....It was gorgeous once again and we loved every moment! It was so nice just to get away with no cares or concerns!
Saturday night we left The Bellagio for our anniversary dinner down at The Venetian....we ate at Tao Restaurant. It was excellent! The Venetian was a very pretty casino....again lots of shops and a very nice casino. Tao was so fun and trendy....we felt like New Yorkers again. Of course the food was delicious and atmosphere amazing. We really enjoyed our anniversary celebration....

Sunday we woke up for the last time at beautiful Bellagio....we had breakfast at the hotel and said our goodbyes to our room, the pool and all the amazing sites. We checked our bags with the bell man and then took the tram over to the Aria casino and shops. We had heard about it and that there was some amazing shopping. Well we did find the biggest Louis Vuitton store I have ever seen.....we made no purchases but enjoyed walking around and exploring. It was so fun.di and orie by the river? canal?

Good Bye to The Bellagio....:(

it's almost here....

After that we loaded into a cab and headed to the airport for our 4:30 flight. We had a little bit of air travel disruption and didn't quite leave Las Vegas at 4:30......let's just say that we finally got back to our house in Dallas at around 2:30 a.m. on a direct flight! It was painful and needless to say we were both exhausted at work the next day. I even went to work and had NO AIR CONDITIONER.....what is it with these baby stores I work in and no a/c some days?the view from where we caught the tram....

It was such a fantastic trip and one full of celebration. Thanks Orie for wanting to take a trip with me and for taking me to Vegas....it was grand!
