May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Memorial Day Weekend

Wow - what a weekend it was! Orie and I drove down to Cape May Point Thursday after work and had such a great time. We brought sweet Grace and she was a big hit with her great-grandparents, cousins, and her four legged cousin Tigger. I am not sure if we had the better time or if it was Grace! Our first night there was cold but a beautiful night - we saw stars which we haven't seen in ages. Doing our best to stay outside with our dog and bear the cold weather!!! Friday the rest of the family arrived (Poppy, Jane, Katie, Nate (on Saturday), Paul, Maria, and Tigger!) It was so great to see everyone and spend some low key time together. What better a spot than Cape May Point. We enjoyed each day at the point, on the beach and at the house. The boys grilled some great dinners and the girls were great helpers with hors d'ouevres and side dishes. Orie and I loved being in a real kitchen able to cook again! As most vacations go, leaving on Monday was hard. Heading back to the city is a little bit of a drag after such a beautiful and fun weeekend. 7 hours in the car to go 160 miles didn't help either! One redeeming quality to that was our rental car was a Toyota Prius (a hybrid). Our gas mileage was unbelievable. We made it to CMP, drove around while there, and back to New York on 9 gallons of gas. Quite a difference from our old Ford Bronco and 4Runner!!!

Just another reason I love Orie...when we have been stuck in traffic all day and I am ready to scream or go nuts he looks over at me and says it's a good thing we like eachother! I couldn't agree more - there's no one else I would rather spend the whole day with in a car - there's also probably no one else who could handle me after spending the whole day in the car!!!

An update on the Ross Global interview...it went really well. There were about 13 candidates total and we had a round table discussion about a case study. A child much like many I saw at Northwestern. I was the first to give my opinion and response to their interventions. I was also allowed first to give my professional recommendations. This was a good position to hold. I am hoping to hear something soon. I really think I would be a great fit for this school. We'll see how it goes - all things happen for a reason.

I'm going to post some additional photos of Grace and her cousing Tigger playing in the duck pond at Cape May Point. She gave up all of her lady like qualities and ran right into the lake following Tigger's lead. They had a blast and left filthy and with several ticks. It couldn't have been a better day for a dog!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend as much as we did!
