May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Cupcakes and Cheeseburgers with a Splash of Champagne....

It's no secret that we love to celebrate....! It may be a secret what we are celebrating lately though.....

This past weekend we headed home to celebrate the gender reveal of our 1st baby.....yes we are having a baby blog fans! Don't worry...I promise to continue blogging our fun adventures and not be just a mommy blog....I can't promise there won't be pic or two of our newest celebration though!

I wanted to tell our family and friends in some fun festive way and most importantly...together. I didn't want anyone knowing ahead of time or after everyone else. So....I planned an adorable...if I say so myself....Cupcakes and Cheeseburgers with a Splash of Champagne party!

What pregnant girl doesn't want a cheeseburger? And everyone loves champagne and cupcakes right? It was set and I was so excited about getting all the things together. We had a color theme of pinks, blues and greens.....we didn't want to lead anyone in the wrong gender direction!

Orie and I found out the sex Wednesday morning and we had to keep it a secret until Saturday night....wow was that a task! Carie couldn't believe I wasn't telling her and everyone had their feelings and their votes and all of that ready for the night....it's amazing how so many people "just know" what it is!!!!

I enlisted Jen to be the party photographer (I forgot my camera!) and she did a fabulous job documenting everything.....warning picture overload but I LOVE it! Enjoy them all!

Busy Bees....

Lately I feel like my posts are all about our busy weekends...I guess that is life right now....Orie working hard for the weekends all week and me recovering from the weekends all week!

This past weekend Josh and Kat came to town to do a little pre-baby shopping trip shopping.....this will make sense about mid month!

They headed over Friday mid day and I joined them for an afternoon of shopping. On the agenda....fabric stores, fabric stores, fabric stores. We canvassed every fabric store on the list....which I think included most in Dallas!!! Kat did not feel very successful but I think it was a successful mission....even if you don't find anything....I think that just confirms her original fabric choices she found in Shreveport! Well done Kat!

We decided to go ahead and register at Buy Buy Baby on Friday since we were on that side of town....boy...are we glad we made that decision.....they didn't have a scanner for Kat at first...then when she got one the batteries were dying....then when she got another one and was about to turn it in...the batteries were low....crazy day at Buy Buy Baby.....I even registered just for fun....not knowing boy or girl and probably not keeping the registry since my baby shower is in Shreveport....but it was so much fun going around and clicking on all the yummy baby products! I am not sure Kat and Josh had as much fun at the store as I did....it was a little overwhelming I admit but I just loved it....all the different things to choose from....all in one place...it was magical!

I think that was about all we had time for on Friday before Kat headed to dinner with friends and then three of us headed to Picasso's for a neighborhood bite. Not a bad day.

Saturday we all headed out for a fun filled day....Kat had a morning baby shower and then we met her that afternoon at the mall to look for her diaper bag....a version was there and it was super cute but not the exact one she wanted....after that we were off to do a little maternity shopping at one store we were near....that was not much fun....of course I found the perfect dress for an occasion coming up and they only had a size M....in all the stores...on all the websites...I was devastated.....just kidding. Kat found a few things to try on and while waiting forever in line...decided it wasn't worth it....unsuccessful mission for sure!

After that we bopped over to Snider Plaza and hit up Uptown Country, Baby Bliss, Hip! Hip! Hooray! and Night & Day.....we didn't really do any shopping...we are saving that for the real baby shopping trip....but it was fun to scope out the stores!

We then headed to a gift shop that was conveniently located next door to a pub....the boys were thrilled....they departed for a bit and sipped some lagers for the afternoon....Kat and I shopped a few more stores and then returned to the boys. I sat with the boys for a bit longer at the pub and Kat headed to Off Fifth and found some super cute shirts for the rest of her pregnancy.

That evening we headed up to THe Porch for dinner and it was delish! We ate way too much and then ordered three desserts for our table of four.....BIG MISTAKE....but they were delish....I don't think we felt so great on the ride home!

On Sunday our visitors went home and Orie and I went back to the land of reality....boo:(

Other than house guests we haven't had a ton going on.....here are a few highlights.....

- I hit up the FUntasia Outlet sale last Friday morning.....huge disappointment from what I heard about it but I did manage to walk away with a few items
- Orie and I had our ultrasound yesterday and found out the sex of baby....more on that later....
- Grace has been super protective of her mommy lately....don't mess with me or she'll get you!
- Orie's big bosses came in town recently and he got to meet them face to face....and when I say big bosses I mean CEO's.....so cool! He was so funny picking out his clothes that morning....wanting to look extra sharp....
- We can't wait for daylight savings switch to get here....I love sunshine and I can't wait to have a whole evening of it too!
- We don't take very many pictures lately and this depresses me...I will get better...maybe we should do more interesting things?

What's going on with you lately?

What a Weekend....

Orie and I just had such a fun weekend! There was sunshine which always helps!

Friday night we went out to dinner with some friends who live in McKinney and another friend who was in town from Washington D.C. The dinner was full of great conversation and lots of laughter. They are some of the funniest people I know! I just love getting together with friends.

Saturday....I had a baby shower to attend in The Colony for said funny friend.....it was such a nice shower and she got some really great baby items for Sawyer....we played a few games, had some mimosas and oohed and aahhhed over all her baby items. What a great way to spend the morning!

After the shower....the sun was out in full force. I called Orie and we went over our choices of outdoor activities for the day.....we settled on Top Golf since we haven't been in a long time. We....along with the rest of Dallas....headed to Top Golf. It was almost a 2 hour wait so we had some lunch and just soaked up the sunshine while waiting for our lane/box. Our buzzer finally went off and we headed upstairs to our spot....a perfect spot too....I love to be upstairs....I think it makes me a better golfer! I only played 2 games and decided I should watch the rest of the time.....Orie played almost 6 games....I think once he realized I had a better high score than he did....it was a challenge! It was the perfect afternoon.

That night we had a birthday celebration for another great friend....Lee-Taylor at Lee Harvey's. It was a really fun outdoor bar/music joint in the middle of nowhere-at least for these Dallas folks! She had a great group of friends gathered to celebrate and Orie and I had a really nice time.....I faded rather early after such a long day of fun (my fault, I know.....).

Sunday was a very relaxing day around the house with Grace. She frolicked in the back yard and I rested most of the day away....

I love weekends full of sunshine and fun! What did you do with your weekend?
