So here we go for August.....
We have had a fantastic August...full of family things, di things, orie things and william things. I got to celebrate the almost arrival of a friend's baby with lunch with girls. Yep, no babies...I got a sitter in the middle of the day (EEEK) and went to lunch all by myself. It was so fun...we had yummy sandwiches and conversation and then a treat at the end - I ate a pink petit four in hopes of a baby girl. Guess what....a few days later, out popped her beautiful baby girl! I definitely think it was because of the pink petit four treat!!
I went to what is surely my last JBF consignment sale - somehow it has lost it's luster and is now almost a pit of gunk to me....which is so sad. I still think it's a great place for gear (love seeing an $8 bumbo and $10 pack and play) but the awesome clothes I found my first time just aren't there anymore. I am so over searching through the world's spit up, faded, well worn el cheapo pajamas in search of my golden item....so DONE!
yes, i carried him like this to the sale....all 24 pounds of him....
William and I went swimming with sweet friends at the neighborhood pool. The water was perfection and William and I enjoyed every moment. He is such a water rat - it's hysterical! The great company didn't hurt either! I'm sad summer is almost over....I love my memories of being a pool rat all summer...I can't wait for that for William!
We have played around the house....dancing, climbing on grace, making music, pulling the train, opening and closing anything that will open and close, played outside - water hose and all (pre west nile outbreak :( ) and just having a good time!
he loves her
little boy loves being outside!
We have strolled the mall with my sweet new niece Elizabeth....William made sure she knew where all the cool stores were! We love going to the mall for Baby Bounce class and then a nice stroll. I enjoy seeing all the latest fashions, William LOVES baby bounce and we both NEED to get out of the house!
I met Grayson and Lee-Taylor for a ladies lunch where we were true Dallas ladies who lunch - we ordered a glass of white wine. We even showed off our techy skills with some new app and got 10% off our bill....very cool - i will try and think of the app....Love getting to see these ladies too because it doesn't happen very often....love hearing their latest happenings! Check them out over at Trends We Love - their new fashion business! Super chic and affordable ladies fashions....from jewelry to clothing to accessories.
We have had a 1 year old photo shoot. I can hardly believe how gorgeous they all turned out...I have so many favorites (still haven't been able to choose what to print)...here a few favs! Thanks to our sweet friend Amy for the awesome photographs!
We have celebrated a 1st birthday...yes....our sweet baby boy has somehow woken us up with a
smile for 365 mornings....it still amazes me. He loved everything about a 1st birthday....his gift (a cozy coupe), his special day spent with mommy and daddy (baby bounce class, toy stores, playing in the yard), his birthday weekend (yes, weekend - the whole family in town, everyone making him feel special, champagne toasts, party prep, late bed times, play time ALL the time), his party (sweet friends gathered around our backyard to celebrate him:) ), his cake (i mean we knew the boy could eat but wow - sweets - a whole new ball game!).....you name it, he loved it! He felt so special and I love that because he is so special!

"you mean i get to eat this?"
"oh yes i did"....well not reallly...we took the cake away!
and still had room for dinner...
We had a special night catching up with my old friend Michael and his girlfriend Shereen.....I have lots of old friends - probably more old (i mean, we go way back) than new if that makes sense...but few with a friendship like this. No matter what we have been through....we are still friends....even the really rough patches...which we still like to giggle about sometimes:) I loved having them in our home, I love that they made the time to stop by, I love that my son went right to them like he has known them forever, I loved that they opened their arms to him like he was their own....makes this girl super happy! We have promised to not let so much time pass until the next visit....here's to hoping we can stick to that!

William is now an official Orient Expressed homeshow rat! I love helping my friend Amy (who sells Orient Expressed clothing) with her homeshow....I love seeing the clothes, watching people look through them, hearing what they think, seeing how they dress their kids....really I love everything about it. Even the madness when 5 people are there (with their children and our children)...they all are ready to go, they all have questions, they all want to see the same item....I love love love it!
So William isn't too sure if he loves all of it. He certainly loved getting to play with big kids and all the new toys at Amy's house. He certainly loved chasing the poor kitty all around the house, playing in the kitty's litter (i actually can't believe I am admitting this on the blog - yuck, gross, nasty is right!), watching the kids run up and down the hall, playing with all the big boy toys that he should NEVER get his hands on....he pretty much loved the WILD part of it! As far as napping at Amy's house - hmmmm....we had an epic fail in the department....oh well....he'll recover right?
We have celebrated another 1st birthday...this one for sweet August. Her ice cream party in Shreveport was nothing short of AWESOME and we loved every minute getting to celebrate with her. Her mommy and daddy planned a great party day and we visited with friends in a sea of pink, hot pink and ice cream. It was definitely Pinterest worthy! I think William is learning that with August...comes pink! We loved party prepping with Kat, visiting with family and friends and just having a great weekend. These are the moments when I am so thankful we live a drive away.

I think that catches you up, right? In between some of these nooks and crannies....Orie has been working on several MAJOR matters that he has hit out of the park. He headed up a matter recently - ALL BY HIMSELF - and got amazing raves from the client....his boss was super proud and so was this proud wife and his family. We knew he rocked! He is working lots and lots right now which is kind of blah for me....we miss him:)
We hope you are having a super awesome August and are wrapping up your summer with fun.....we plan on it!
