May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Anniversary Weekend

Wow! Did we have a great time in CMP this past weekend. Orie and I drove down Friday after work with Grace and didn't return until Tuesday afternoon. We had great company for the weekend. Beth, Tom, Katie, Nathan, Paul and Maria were able to head down for some r&r as well. Grace was in a constant state of joy with four dogs to play with all weekend. Molly and Misty (two greater swiss mountain dogs), Bailey (a Jack Russel with a distinct Napolean complex) and her old friend Tigger from Memorial Day. They went to Lake Lilly again and just had a ball. We had a near drowning that felt serious. Orie now knows not to throw the stick out quite that far if we want to see Grace again! Later after that she pounced on a stick in the water that dropped off and went fully under!! She loved it but I kind of freaked out. Dogs will be dogs I guess.

We had such fun grilling on the deck both Saturday and Sunday nights. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed several great beach days. Monday, our anniversary, was perfect. We had breakfast in Cape May at a place called Mad Batters and then enjoyed some relaxation on the beach. It was a gorgeous last day. The only reason it was easy to leave is because we know we will be back in two weeks with the whole family! That evening we went to dinner at the Blue Claw thanks to Jennifer and Rodney's recommendation from Jane. We had dinner in the tall ships room and it was really lovely. Orie had oysters with caviar on them. YUCK!!! I took a picture just to document - I had no idea I married not only an oyster lover but caviar too?!?!?!

We celebrated with champagne back at the house. It was a bottle of Domaine Carneros. This was really special because that is the vineyard we visited and fell in love with while on our first trip together to San Francisco back in the day. We then took Grace down to the beach. We could hear the huge waves crashing all the way at the house. It was amazing. She loved running around and getting just close to the wave before it crashed - then running away!! What a great dog. We had so much fun chasing her around.

Tuesday when we headed home we went through several tolls as you might know on the Parkway and the Turnpike. Well - there is one toll near the city you only have to pay once. Not us though - we took a wrong exit for gas and ended up having to pay 5 tolls instead of our one!!!! It was great - we saw Giants stadium up close and personal and had a great laugh! True love when you can really screw up and still sit together and laugh hysterically!

What a great year we have had. Thanks for sharing it with us and keeping up with our journey!
