May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, may the rain fall soft upon your face. And until we meet again, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Flowers....for Mom

Mom told me the other day the flowers of NYC made her news. This post is for her...

The flowers are really starting to bloom all over NYC. The tulips on Park Avenue is one of my favorite areas. Here are a few pics of some of our favorite spots. The tulips on Park, some beautiful trees in the garden of our church, and some trees in Central Park. Enjoy!

My First NYC Fender Bender?

Oh yes...I have now been involved in a fender bender in the great city of New York. My bus this afternoon was hit from behind. We were hit hard enough that I felt the jolt sitting in the front 20% of the bus. It was wild! Let me also add that it was crazy raining outside, my bus driver had already not pulled to the curb at the previous stop and a large, elderly woman fell while getting off, and the car that hit my bus drove off after the bus driver stopped the bus and got out.

Oh what a day! I am drenched after walking home! About at the moment I wanted to die, sweet Orie called my cell. I told him what had happened and that I was walking home in this crap and he came and met me to walk me home. What a sweet boy!

These are not the days of spring that we love...these are the days we HATE New York. Orie likes to pretend he is at a water park on these days...I'm not sure that works for me.

Hope your day was dry...

Oh what a weekend it was!!! We spent Friday afternoon at the Boat Basin on W. 79th Street. It was fabulous. We were joined by some work friends of mine and good friends of Orie's. Life isn't too shabby. Today we spent the day in the park full of sun, relaxation and enjoyment. We had some lovely "neighbors" around us...sun bathers and boxer brief boys!!! We passed by Marie Chantal (my former Employer) and they had closed up shop....I guess that's what happens when you can't play nice with others!!! The Dali Lama would not be happy with me right now...but I am thrilled with the art of karma at this point!!! I hope you enjoy some photos and I hope your weekend was fabulous! Our shout outs to Shelley and Corey for the wedding weekend and Geoff and Camille for their engagement weekend! Love is in the air and it is good! Love to all from NYC!

Hallelujah....a weekend of good weather!

Well the sun is out this weekend and we are taking full advantage! We spent some time at the Boat Basin yesterday and today are headed to the park for a full day of fun. Pics and more posting to come soon.

What are you doing with your weekend?

Turn, Turn, Turn...

I love this song...

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time of war, a time of peace
A time of love, a time of hate
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time of peace, I swear it's not too late!

Easter

Well we had a fabulous Easter weekend. We enjoyed a night out Thursday night since we didn't have work on Friday. Friday we enjoyed a day of nothing. Saturday I did a little shopping and that evening I cooked"Easter Dinner." It's always a challenge to cook a gourmet meal in our tiny apartments!! What fun it was though. Sunday we woke up to see if the Easter Bunny had come and he had...but he only visited Orie. Oh well...maybe he'll remember to visit me next year. We went to church at Holy Trinity in our neighborhood and it was a really nice service. Lots of instruments and a children's choir and play. After church we hurried to Central Park for Orie's first softball game. It was a hoot! He had lots of grass stains and boy was he sore after his falls. He was a great hitter though and got an RBI, 3 singles and 1 double! Oh my future Red Sox player! Enjoy the pics!

Find a Twenty...Pick It Up...All Day Long You'll Have....

FLOWERS!!!! Well, tonight on our walk to the park with Grace we found a $20 bill on the corner. We barely knew what to do. We picked it up and I was convinced that this was the biggest moral dilemma I have had in my lifetime!!! I also thought we might be on candid camera. It was crazy...so what to do with our new found fortune...we bought flowers!!!

Hope you enjoy the pics. We are having a lovely evening of Easter dinner and beautiful flowers. Tomorrow we will go to church down the street and then Orie's softball game in Central Park. Easter is just not the same in New York but we are trying! Hope all is well...let us know what Easter brings for you!

The Sun is Shining!!!

What a thrill it was this morning to wake up and see some sunshine!!! I have been craving it and I think Grace was pretty thrilled as well. We had a nice walk in the park and soaked up lots of rays. I woke up quite early this morning so we had lots of time to kill before Orie even thinks about getting out of the bed.

We have had a really nice relaxing weekend. Friday night we went to see three short plays from the works of David Ives. A friend of mine from school was one of the actors and it was really a great evening. The plays were quite good and really different from any theater I have experienced before. It was a small theater (black box theater) and David Ives has some interesting stories. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Afterwards we went to dinner with some other school friends who had gone to the play as well. It was really a fun night.

Saturday we were pretty much bums. It was nice to have a day of nothing. That evening we watched both basketball games and we're looking forward to the final on Monday night. I have UNC winning the whole thing in my bracket but I am really starting to like Michigan State - they look so happy and appear to really have fun while playing. I might have to change sides and forget the bracket...it's not like I was really doing well to begin with!!!!

We are looking forward to a short week...I only have three days of kids then a professional development day Thursday and off on Friday. Orie is able to take Good Friday off also so we will have a nice long Easter weekend. We don't really have any plans besides church on Sunday so we will see what our weekend turns into!

We hope you all have a great week and wish we could be home to celebrate Easter with so many friends and family :(

Let us know what is new with you! (we're serious about this....)
