We took our first trip to the Dallas Zoo this morning. It was so fun. It's a super nice zoo that is well cared for, nicely laid out, clean and hardly anyone was there (probably because it's hot outside!!) William loved it....we both said he would stick his hand out and point the whole time and make his bark/animal/oh wow noise....he did both of these things almost the entire time. He has given up his morning nap (with the help of a transitional week in prep for going to "school") so we were able to spend the whole morning out at the zoo.
We went through the forests, African safari, desert, rode the monorail, pet the giraffes, fed the birds, saw the gorgeous elephants try to play ball with one another and even tried to liven up the Tiger (he must not know it's game day for the LSU Tigers). We had so much fun! Enjoy our pics....
entering the zoo...they had awesome music playing and he was super excited
the beginning of his pointing...hysterical
flamingos...they get their pink color from carotene...it's added to their food the zoo provides for them...if you ask me, they don't give them enough because they weren't super pink
look y'all, another animal
he loved hanging and watching the animals roam around the rocks and cliffs
can't remember what these two were....
the chimpanzees...they were on the move when we arrived...
trying to find the chimps again....
i think they were headed over for chow time
william loved the chimp viewing area, it was air conditioned
some type of crane i believe
some type of tortoise...i'm obviously not very good with animals...
the gorillas....SO SO lazy....
walking towards the mono rail....we'll see how this goes...
he had fun but as far as sitting still in someones lap for 20 minutes....hmmm....not so much....i think this is what it's going to be like when he goes for his first flight in a few weeks....yikes!
watching the habitats as we fly by....
this elephant was so cute....it really wanted to play ball with friends....
it kept rolling the ball over to the friend and the friend kept walking away
this elephant really needs new friends
william and orie by the elephants
the giraffes were GORGEOUS
it might be one of my favorite animals
there were TONS but only one that wanted to come over by the viewing platform for some food...
truly beautiful, right?
they were SO TALL
maybe these two are friends
Orie and William hanging out with the giraffes
and now it was time to pet the giraffe....
orie tries....
william is a little confused
he's starting to like this giraffe
okay, i'll try to touch him....
okay, i will...
oh wow, that feels funny
hehehehehehe
this giraffe is a little close dad
he LOVED it!
walking with dad
beavers...they were crazy
the tiger, not super interesting and very lazy....what's up with that?
a little more walking with dad
feeding the birds
he had NO idea there was a bird on orie's shoulder
still no idea
still no idea
oh i see it...
trying to squirm away
that bird is super close
trying to find more birds
okay, i guess this one will do...
fascinated...
in love
can you just here him going oooohhhoooohhh
